Straddling the Fence

I straddled the fence
tearing jean
and skin...
hiding
my thoughts
of doubts within...
deep....
in consideration.
deliberation,
or unconscious
procrastination?
I hung,
in decorative mode,
a yard ornament,
in cat burglar fashion,
dressed in black...
contemplating,
jumping dogs,
locked doors...
the B & E
of....
the back entry....
climbing over
the window sill....
and
all the while,
I clung,
between here
and there....
knowing….
One wrong move…
Was all it took….
To lose…
In…pick-up sticks,
Operation,
Hopscotch,
to name a few ….
Never mind the fact
Of what to do ……
About….
Straddling the fence.

Always it seems a decision to be made
a gray area to be played
Here or there and which is right --- if any
A Lovely expression
Thank you . A lot of decisions impact major parts of our lives...
sitting that fence is fine, til you know you're ready to move on... but step gently, falling either way hurts... a lot more than mere pride
